# Bank accounts

The Bank accounts page lists the bank accounts your organization has registered with Ripple, and lets you register more. Registering an account tells Ripple which accounts your organization owns.

In Payments Direct, registered bank accounts support funded payments, and they are on file as destinations for fiat withdrawals from your Ripple-managed account.

If your account uses pre-funding, tell your Ripple liaison before you send your first fiat deposit. See [Deposit funds](/products/payments-direct-2/user-interface/guides/deposit-funds).

Note
This page is about your own organization's accounts. It is not where you manage the bank details of the parties you pay. Those are beneficiary details. For more information, see [Beneficiaries](/products/payments-direct-2/user-interface/beneficiaries).

To open the page, select the **Settings** gear icon, then under **Transfers**, select **Bank accounts**.

For step-by-step instructions, see [Add a bank account](/products/payments-direct-2/user-interface/guides/add-a-bank-account).

## Prerequisites

- Your user must have permission to manage onboarding details for your organization. Without it, the page shows an error in place of the list.
- Your organization must have an approved product that supports bank account registration.

If the **Transfers** section does not appear on the Settings page, contact your organization administrator or your Ripple representative.

## How accounts are organized

Accounts are grouped into a section per product. The Payments Direct section is titled **Ripple Payments Direct**. Which sections you see depends on how your organization is configured with Ripple. If you expect a section that is not there, contact your Ripple representative.

Each account appears as an expandable card. Expand a card to view the bank account address, the customer address, and the account details.

The card lists every account detail field, including the intermediary bank fields and both account number and IBAN formats. Fields that do not apply to your account show `N/A`. The account number, routing number, IBAN, and SWIFT BIC code are masked to their last four characters, so select the visibility icon beside a value to reveal it in full.

## Account limits

Your organization can register up to three bank accounts for Payments Direct. When you reach the limit, the **Add bank account** button is disabled for that product.

## Redemption account

A product can have one of its accounts designated as the redemption account.

If a product has more than one account, select **Manage redemption account** in the section heading to choose which one, then select **Save**. The control is unavailable when the product has only one account, since there is nothing to choose between.

## Removing an account

To remove an account, expand its card and select the delete option.

What happens depends on how many accounts the product has and whether the account is the redemption account:

| Situation | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| This is the product's only account | You cannot remove it outright. The dialog is titled **Account needs to be replaced** and offers **Replace account**, which takes you to the flow for adding the replacement. |
| The account is the product's redemption account, and the product has other accounts | You cannot remove it yet. The dialog is titled **Cannot delete this account** and offers **Change redemption account** so you can designate a different one first. |
| Any other account | The dialog asks you to confirm, and the account is removed. |

These are checked in the order shown, so an account that is both the only account and the redemption account prompts you to replace it rather than to change the redemption account.

Bank accounts cannot be edited after they are registered. To correct a detail, replace the account.
