# Ripple Custody 1.17 (Jan 20, 2025)

Version 1.17 is a SaaS release and introduces the following new features:

If you are migrating to this version from version 1.14 or earlier, you must complete Steps 1, 2, and 3 in the [Migration guide](/products/custody/v1.26/get-started/deployment/migration-guide) to migrate all user entries to the new format needed for SSO integration.

## Custody

This release introduces the following custody functionality enhancements.

### Compliance -- Elliptic integration for transaction screening

[Elliptic](https://www.elliptic.co/) is a compliance provider that helps you meet regulatory standards and mitigate risks associated with digital assets. The (beta) integration with Elliptic allows transaction screening to assess risk and make informed, policy-driven decisions on transaction approval or rejection. This feature is currently available for new instances only.

Compliance management includes:

- **Configurable risk scores:**
  - Define specific risk score ranges for low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk transactions.
  - Automate decisions such as approval, rejection, or escalation based on predefined thresholds.
- **Transaction screening:**
  - **Outgoing transactions:** Proactively screens destination addresses and automatically enforces policies for streamlined transaction management.
  - **Incoming transactions:** Screens incoming deposits, automatically releasing low-risk transactions to minimize operational delays and enhance user experience.
- **Policy-driven compliance automation:**
  - Leverage the Ripple Custody policy engine to apply flexible, rule-based actions tailored to your institution’s compliance framework.
- **Transactions insights:**
  - Access a detailed overview of transaction statuses, compliance analysis results, risk levels, and decisions—all within Ripple Custody.
  - Seamlessly transition to Elliptic's dashboard for deeper investigation and reporting.

## Beta release details

This feature is being released in beta and it's available to a selected list of beta customers. The beta phase provides an opportunity for Ripple to collaborate with early adopters to refine the feature, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of customers and delivers maximum value.

## Distribution and deployment

The 1.17 version will be progressively deployed across SaaS environments starting on January 20, 2025 with production environments scheduled for deployment on February 3, 2025.
