# System architecture

The components of the Ripple Custody infrastructure are organized into the following layers:

- **Interaction**: Customer-facing Ripple components.
- **Core and Governance**: Business logic and secure Ripple components.


The following diagrams shows these layers, and how they interact with external, customer-managed components.
