This page describes how you can purchase Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin from Ripple.

Prerequisites

To purchase Ripple USD on the XRP Ledger network, make sure that your wallet has established a Trust line with Ripple's issuer account first.

Stablecoin purchasing guidelines

To successfully purchase Ripple USD stablecoin, you need to be aware of the following:

• You must transfer the required fiat USD money from your onboarded bank account to Ripple's bank account. Upon receipt of the fiat money, Ripple credits your nominated stablecoin wallet with the equivalent amount in Ripple USD .
• You should only send fiat money from the bank account you supplied to Ripple during onboarding. Funds received from any other account will be rejected and returned to the sender.

How to buy Ripple USD

You can purchase Ripple USD by making a wire transfer, with your desired amount in USD, to Ripple's bank account. When Ripple receives the fiat amount sent, the equivalent in RLUSD is credited directly to your wallet.

Once you have Ripple's bank account details, you won't need to use the Stablecoin UI for future purchases. Simply make a payment to the Ripple bank account to send additional fiat USD whenever you wish to buy more Ripple USD.

• You must include the Memo/Reference (Wallet ID) in the bank wire to ensure that Ripple can reconcile your fiat deposit and minimize any issuance delays.
• Funds must settle on the Ripple fiat bank account before Ripple USD can be sent to your chosen wallet address. Once Ripple has received the fiat payment from your bank, the stablecoin purchased is credited to your wallet address immediately.

  Warning

  Fiat payment settlement times can vary by bank, as Ripple must wait for transactions to clear through traditional banking rails. To avoid delays, we recommend that you purchase your stablecoin ahead of time.

View Ripple's bank account details

To retrieve Ripple's bank account details for a wire transfer:

1. On the top right of the Stablecoin page, click Buy . A new screen is displayed with a list of wallet addresses to choose from.
2. Choose the wallet address where you would like your Ripple USD to be credited .

   

3. Click Continue to proceed. A new screen is displayed asking you to transfer your funds.
4. Initiate a wire transfer from your bank to Ripple's bank account, using the details displayed in the UI. Make sure the Memo/Reference (Wallet ID) is included in the bank wire so that Ripple can reconcile your fiat deposit without delay.

   Use your onboarded bank account

   You should send funds exclusively from your onboarded bank account. Funds sent from any other account will be rejected and returned to the sender.

5. Select the checkbox to acknowledge all important disclaimers .
6. Once you have completed the payment, click Finish & Close .
