# Version status

You are viewing the documentation for **v0** of the Ripple Collections API.

**v1 is the current version.** It is what you get by default at
[docs.ripple.com/products/collections](/products/collections), and it is the version we recommend
for new integrations.

v0 remains available and documented. You can switch between versions using the version dropdown at
the top of the left navigation.

## What is different in v1

v1 introduces account-based routing. Collections and channels are created against a beneficiary's
account rather than routed directly between partners, and settlements are tied to accounts.
