# Redeem Ripple USD

This page describes how you can redeem Ripple USD (RLUSD) for USD fiat currency.

## Prerequisites

To follow this guide:

- You must already have Ripple USD currency in your nominated wallet(s).
- Ensure you have sufficient XRP or ETH in your wallet(s) to cover the network fees required for redemptions.


## Stablecoin redemption guidelines

To successfully redeem Ripple USD for fiat USD, you need to be aware of the following:

- You must send funds to the correct Ripple wallet address. Sending Ripple USD to the wrong wallet may lead to **permanent** loss of funds.
- Only send Ripple USD stablecoin to the provided Ripple wallet address. Sending any other token to the wallet may result in funds being **lost** forever.
- Redemptions are processed in real-time, but the actual fiat settlement time may vary depending on your bank.


## How to redeem Ripple USD for fiat USD

To convert Ripple USD stablecoin to fiat USD, you need to send the required amount in RLUSD to Ripple's crypto wallet on either the XRPL or Ethereum networks.

Once Ripple receives the funds, it transfers the equivalent amount in USD to the bank account you have designated as your *redemption account*. For information on setting your redemption account, see [Bank accounts](/products/stablecoin/user-interface/settings/bank-accounts).

Please note that settlement times for fiat payments may vary based on your bank's processing speed.

Once you have obtained Ripple's crypto wallet details, you don't need to use the Ripple Stablecoin UI for future redemptions. Just send more Ripple USD to Ripple's wallet whenever you'd like to redeem { $env.PUBLIC_VAR_RLUSD %} for fiat USD.

## View Ripple's wallet address

To view Ripple's wallet address:

1. On the top right of the **Stablecoin** page, click **Redeem**.A **Redeem RLUSD for Fiat** modal is displayed.
2. Select the relevant blockchain network (for example, XRPL).
The following example is for illustration purposes only. Do **not** send Ripple USD to this wallet.

3. Scan the QR code, or copy the wallet address.
4. Send the required amount in **RLUSD** to the wallet address.
5. Select the checkbox to **acknowledge all important disclaimers**.
6. Click **Close**.
