# RLUSD chains and networks

Ripple USD (RLUSD) is a multi-chain stablecoin. It is issued natively on the XRP Ledger and as an ERC-20 token on several EVM-compatible blockchains.

## Mainnet and Testnet

On each supported blockchain, RLUSD is available on both a **Mainnet** and a **Testnet**:

- **Mainnet** is the live, production network where RLUSD carries real-world value and is backed one-to-one by reserves.
- **Testnet** mirrors Mainnet functionality without real-world value, letting developers test integrations safely. RLUSD tokens on a Testnet hold no financial value and are not backed by real-world assets.
