# Aligned testing

Aligned testing uses Test Harness for both sending and receiving.

Run active mode tests on the sending and receiving side to see the sample payments execute automatically.

## Mock sender

Start by opening an active test on the sending side.

1. In the Test Harness UI, click **Sender Tests** > **Passive Mode**.
2. Enable **AUTO LOCK ACCEPTED QUOTES** and **AUTO COMPLETE PAYMENTS**.
3. Refer to [Sender sample data](/products/payments-odl/api-docs/ripplenet/test-automation/sender-testing/run-active-mode-sender-tests#sample-data) and upload: `ripple_sample_rpo_schema.json` and `ripple_sample_test_profile_sendtest.json`.
4. Click **Active Mode** > **New Test** and create a new active test with *Ripple Sample Sender* **Test Profile** and *Ripple Sample* **RPO Schema**.


## Mock receiver

Opening an active test on the sending side, with data that aligns with the open active test on the receiving side, triggers the tests to run.

1. In the Test Harness UI, click **Receiver Tests** > **Passive Mode** > **Settings**.
2. Enable **AUTO SETTLE LOCKED PAYMENTS**.
3. Refer to [Receiver sample data](/products/payments-odl/api-docs/ripplenet/test-automation/receiver-testing/run-active-mode-receiver-tests#sample-data) and upload: `ripple_sample_payment_template.csv` and `ripple_sample_test_profile_recvtest.json`.
4. Click **Active Mode** > **New Test** and create a new active test with *Ripple Sample Receiver* **Test Profile** and *Ripple Sample* **Payment Template Set**.
