# Switch between organizations

If your Ripple account has access to more than one organization, you can move between them without signing out and signing back in. The organization switcher at the top of the navigation menu lets you change which organization you're working in during a single session.

When you switch organizations, Ripple Payments loads the data and permissions for the selected organization. What you can see and do may differ from one organization to another.

Note
If your account has access to only one organization, the switcher displays your organization name but does not open a list.

## Switch to another organization

1. Save any unsaved work in your current organization. Switching organizations reloads the interface, and unsaved changes are not carried over.
2. At the top of the navigation menu, select your current organization's name. This displays a dropdown menu of available organizations.

3. In the list of organizations, select the organization you want to open. A checkmark indicates your current organization.
4. A confirmation dialog asks you to confirm the switch and warns that the interface will reload. Select **Switch** to continue, or **Cancel** to stay where you are.

When the switch completes, a message confirms which organization you moved to, and you land on the Home page for that organization.

## Messages you might see when switching

| Situation | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| The switch fails, and a message asks you to try again or contact Ripple Support if the problem persists. | Try the switch again. If it keeps failing, contact [technical support](/products/payments-direct-2/support). |
| The organization list does not open, and a message says your organizations could not be loaded. | Switching is unavailable until the list loads. Reload the page, then contact [technical support](/products/payments-direct-2/support) if the problem continues. |
| The organization you expect is missing from the list. | Your account may not have access to it. Contact your organization administrator. |
