# Operations and maintenance

Operations and maintenance contains the runbooks operators use after deployment: migrations, telemetry, event delivery, backup and recovery, security-sensitive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Use this section when you need to keep an existing Ripple Custody environment healthy, recover from an operational issue, or complete a version-specific migration.

## Operational boundaries

Platform backup and disaster recovery depend on both database state and anti-rewind protection. Vault recovery and vault wrapping-key rotation depend on vault key-management strategy.
