# Propose intents

Every change you make to the system involves an intent proposal, for example, creation or update of an entity such as a domain or user.

To propose an intent:

1. Navigate to the relevant function of the UI, for example, **Domains**.
2. Perform the required change. For example, to create a new domain, follow the steps in [Create a domain](/products/custody/v1.26/ui/environment/domain/create#create-a-domain).
3. Sign the operation with the app. For more information, see [Sign intents](/products/custody/v1.26/ui/get-started/key-operations/intent-signature).


Ripple Custody submits the intent to the approval process. To view the intent, along with its current status, navigate to **Intents**.
