All incoming and outgoing transactions must be approved or rejected before they can be processed. To automate transaction approval and rejection, you can set up customized risk score ranges that define the condition that must be met to auto-approve or auto-reject a transaction. Risk score configuration varies based on which compliance solution you chose. Currently, the following options exist:

Configuration with Elliptic

Using the risk scores you configure, transactions are classified as low or high risk. Transactions whose risk scores fall between the low and high risk scores numbers are automatically classified as medium risk. For example, if your configuration is such that transactions with a risk score of 3.3 or below are low risk, and transactions with a risk score of 6.6 or higher are considered high risk, then transactions with a risk score between 3.3 and 6.6 are considered medium-risk transactions.

Customize risk score configuration Elliptic

To customize the risk score ranges, complete these steps:

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Integrations and on the Elliptic tile, select Configure.

  2. In the Elliptic integration window, next to Customize your risk score configuration, select Start.

  3. In the Customize your risk score configuration window, start by customizing risk scores for outgoing transactions.

    1. In the low-risk category, select a condition from the following options:

      • Less than
      • Equals or lower than
    2. Select a (decimal) value between 0 and 10.

    3. Select the type of action that should be applied if the risk score meets the condition. The following options are available:

      • Apply automatic approval
      • Apply automatic rejection
      • Apply manual review
  4. Repeat step 3 to customize risk scores for the high-risk category.

    Note:

If an operation doesn't fall under the low-risk or high-risk category, it's considered medium-risk, which requires a case-by-case decision. For more information, see also Add a policy rule for outgoing transactions.

  5. Select Next.

  6. If you want to use a different score configuration for incoming transactions, select the Use different scoring configuration for incoming transactions checkbox. If you want to use the same score configuration, select Submit.

If no errors occur, your customized risk score configuration will be displayed in the Elliptic integration panel and transactions screening begins.
