# Update vaults

You can update the following vault details:

- Name
- Description
- Custom properties


You can only update a vault in the root domain.

## Update a vault

To update a vault:

1. Select the root domain from the **Domain** drop-down menu.
2. Navigate to **Administration > Vaults**.
3. At the end of the vault row, click the contextual menu and select **Edit**.
4. Update the details of the vault.
5. Click **Submit for Approval** and [sign the operation with the app](/products/custody/v1.15/ui/get-started/key-operations/intent-signature).


The vault is updated when the intent is successfully executed.
