# Supported key management systems (KMS)

Ripple Custody's secure components need to use a cryptographic key management backend to satisfy the system's security requirements and to enable the creation of blockchain accounts and transactions.

This section describes the implementation of the following KMSs:

- IBM Cloud hardware security module
- AWS Cloud hardware security module
- Thales on-premise hardware security module
