# Manage assets

Assets are the items you can transact with on a blockchain ledger, such as digital currency and tokens.

You can transact with any asset that follows one of the following standards, as long as the ledger supports the asset:

- ERC-20
- ERC-721
- ERC-1155


In this section you'll learn how to:

- Register new assets on a ledger
- View asset details
- Validate registered assets
- Lock invalid assets


You can use assets that are registered but not yet validated to create transaction orders. This includes assets that are registered automatically by Ripple Custody. For this reason, you must detect and lock any invalid assets as soon as they are registered or no longer needed.
